While re-reading saved posts on my Google Reader, I came across this gem by Marjorie Ingall. It's a beautifully written short article about the author's two little girls:

Last night went to see Holiday Pops and it was GREAT!  Nothing can compare to hearing music live!  When it's the Boston Pops being conducted by Keith Lockhart how can you go wrong?!  First time seeing the Boston Pops performing live and would love to see them again.

What is it with noon and the malls becoming crowded!  Hair cut yesterday and the appointment was earlier so when we got to the mall there were plenty of parking spaces.  By the time my sister and I were walking out of the salon the mall was getting crowded.  Went shopping again today and it seemed like at noon the mall started to get crowded again.  Guess the smart thing to do is leave your house early and get to the mall before everyone else does.  Only a few more things to pick up and the shopping will be done.

All of the gifts are out of the bags and now in boxes sitting in the living room in two big piles.  Only things I have in bags in my bedroom are the gifts for my sister.  The plan is to wrap those this week and get the bags out of the bedroom and the gifts into the living room.

Slowly the shopping and the wrapping is getting done.

Enjoy!

[info]alyxbradford wrote this post regarding the history of Christmas and how Jesus had little to do with it.

Good read with interesting comments, too.

Go forth.

The Christmas shopping is slowly getting done.  Came home today and did some online shopping over at amazon.com and was able to ship the order free.  Free is a good thing along with no taxes.  The package should arrive sometime next week so that's plenty of time to wrap before Christmas.  Still need to pick up a few more things and might do a bit of shopping during lunch tomorrow.

Once the shopping is done I might get this as a Merry Christmas to me: http://www.amazon.com/4400-Official-Companion-Seasons/dp/1845764730/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260243106&sr=1-6.  Try to behave and not buy myself anything while Christmas shopping.  On the trip to the outlets only picked up a top for myself that I plan on wearing on Christmas day when we bring breakfast over to Dad and Connie's.

From that choice you can probably tell that I'm really enjoying watching "The 4400."  Couple of episodes into S3 and after that only one more season to watch.  Good thing about watching watch a show is over and the episodes are out no need to wait until next week or for a new season to start to see what is going to happen.

Edit to add:

Lj seems to be playing pick and choose or which notifications I receive. Thought this was the Christmas season and not April's Fool Day ;-)

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas in the living room and also outside.  Run and hide the "s" word fell last night and the car needs to be brushed off.  It's sunny today so it should all melt before the day is over.

The Christmas Tree, nativity, village and nutcrackers are all out and now in place in the living room.  Spent the majority of Satuday decorating for Christmas and today is a day to rest.  My sister and I picked up our nephews on Friday night and they have been here all weekend.  The oldest one, who is 16, worked his butt off helping us out while the younger one, who will be 12 this month, worked his butt off sitting on the couch playing with his PSP, he did help a little bit.  The help was greatly appreciated since all of the decorations are stored in the cellar and the only way to get to the cellar is by going outside, bringing the boxes to the back door and up to the second floor.  Only thing left to do is finish putting the lights in the window and we'll do that later after dropping off the boys.

Still need to finish my Christmas shopping.  Been looking online to see where the best deals are for a few things and will probably go shopping online either tonight or tomorrow after work.  Lots of sites are having deals on delivery and even with paying for delivery it's still less with the discounted price and not paying the sales tax.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
